WHAT IS CBN?
Cannabinol (CBN) is a non-intoxicating, mildly psychoactive cannabinoid that is produced when delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ-9-THC) oxidizes and degrades over time due to exposure to oxygen, light and heat. It was the first cannabinoid to be isolated in the late 1800s and was thought to be the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis for many decades (1). Today, we know that the crown goes to THC, but CBN is finding its own limelight and is being researched for its potential benefits.
CBN can interact with some medications, so it is best to check with a health care provider if you are taking medications.
CBN is considered a dietary supplement. The FDA does not currently regulate the safety and purity of dietary supplements
